What IB Vine does that we do not
The audio library is the real thing. 93 mock sessions, 33+ hours, across 23+ firms, recorded as multi-speaker audio with interviewer and candidate voices. You listen to a full exchange rather than reading one. Their own description is accurate: you "listen to realistic question and answer exchanges."
Worth being precise, because it is easy to misread: this is a listening library, not speaking practice. Nothing records you and nothing scores you. What it gives you is a model of what a strong answer sounds like at pace, which is genuinely hard to get any other way, and you can do it on a commute. If you learn well by ear, no other product in this category comes close.
They cover more firms. 50+ against our 37. If the firm you are interviewing with is outside our coverage, that is a straightforward reason to look at them.
The modules are a real curriculum. 40 of them, with flashcards and quizzes, plus 20+ hours of podcasts. Our equivalent is GOBLIN100, which is narrower on purpose: 100 questions in a fixed order teaching each concept before it is tested.
They have been doing this since 2019. That is five years more accumulated material than we have.
What we do that they do not
Everything we hold is reported. Their published figures separate "curated" from "reported from actual interviews": 2,500+ total, 1,900+ reported. Both numbers are honest and the distinction is theirs, not ours. On our side the two numbers are the same, because a question that did not come from a candidate report does not enter the bank.
You can read the whole bank before paying. Every question, browsable by topic, difficulty or firm, with no account. Nobody else in this category does that, IB Vine included, and it is the single thing we would point to if you only checked one.
Our pricing is on the site. $39.99 a month, free at 5 questions a day. IB Vine names a Pro tier and a Diamond tier and does not publish what either costs. That is a common choice and not a scandal, but you should know you will be finding out later.
The engine chooses, not you. IB Vine gives you filters, randomize, saved questions and mastery tracking, which are the tools of a library: good ones, and you drive. GOBLINMODE decides for you, weighting each question on how you rated it and where you are in the curriculum, so the topics you dodge are the ones you see most. That is the difference between a place to look things up and a drill that comes after you.
Answers are structured the same way every time. Four sections: Direct Response, the answer itself. Intuition, why it is right. Watch, the trap inside it. And a Deep Dive into the mechanics. Their side is flashcards, quizzes and your own notes, which is a different and lighter shape.
There is a name attached. OFFERGOBLIN is built by one person. He attended UChicago for an MBA and an MS in Computer Science, was technical lead for the banking club, worked at Centerview, then built OFFERGOBLIN. He is a Top Expert and Customer Favorite on Leland, rated 5.0, where he coaches investment banking recruiting. He runs the Instagram and TikTok and answers messages. IB Vine does not identify anyone on its site, which is a choice plenty of companies make, and it does mean there is nobody to ask.
How to actually choose
IB Vine if you learn by ear, or you are targeting a firm outside our 37, or you want a module curriculum with quizzes to work through.
OFFERGOBLIN if you want the professional drilling tool. More questions, all of them reported rather than partly curated, every one attributed to a firm and round, the whole bank open before you pay, and an engine that decides what you practise instead of leaving that to you on a Tuesday night.
Run both if the budget allows. They overlap less than any other pair in this category: an adaptive card engine and a 33-hour audio library are doing genuinely different work.
