Bank & Round Mode: Filter OFFERGOBLIN by Firm and Interview Round

Selection inside the filtered pool

The selection inside Bank & Round is not random. It still flows through the GOBLINMODE engine: the same two layers of weighting (phase × health), applied to the narrowed pool.

That means inside a Goldman first round filter, the candidate still gets:

• Unseen Goldman first round questions in the current curriculum phase first.
• Goldman first round questions they got wrong before, at 20x weight.
• Bleed-over from adjacent phases when the active-phase pool runs thin.

The engine does not just hand back a random Goldman question. It hands back the next Goldman question the candidate most needs given their grading history.

When to use Bank & Round

The high-leverage moments:

• Week before a known interview: a Goldman TMT first round on the calendar Friday means switching into Goldman + first round filters Tuesday through Thursday.
• Superday prep: bank-specific Superday formats vary. Pulling the Superday round filter for the target firm exposes the question patterns specific to that day.
• Coverage group prep: when paired with the Topics filter, candidates can drill bank-specific coverage-group questions (Goldman TMT, Evercore Healthcare, etc.).

The high-frustration moments where candidates misuse it:

• Daily prep: using Bank & Round as the daily mode without an interview pending narrows the pool unnecessarily. The engine has fewer cards to weight, so the experience gets repetitive.
• Generic technicals: accounting, valuation, and DCF questions are mostly bank-agnostic. There is no benefit to filtering them by bank.

The right pattern: GOBLINMODE for daily reps, Bank & Round for the week leading up to a real interview.

How firms differ in question style

The banks the candidate has interviews at often dictate what the prep should emphasize:

• Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, BofA, Citi: heavy on standard technicals across accounting, valuation, DCF, and LBO. Coverage groups (TMT, Healthcare, FIG) layer in industry-specific questions.

• Middle-market and regional banks: the core technicals are the same. Coverage exposure varies by office.

Bank & Round mode does not tell the candidate what to expect at a specific firm: that is what the Learn library and recruiting guides are for. What Bank & Round does is make sure the cards practiced reflect the firm's actual question style based on candidate-reported interviews.

What Bank & Round is not

Bank & Round is not a leak. The questions surfaced under the Goldman filter are not Goldman's current interview leaks; they are candidate-reported questions across the firm's history, normalized into the OFFERGOBLIN format. No question represents an unauthorized disclosure of a live interview.

It is also not a sufficient prep on its own. A candidate who only practices Bank & Round questions for one firm will be unprepared if the interviewer goes off-script. The fundamentals from GOBLINMODE are the bedrock; Bank & Round narrows the focus on top of that bedrock.
