What the Free tier is

The Free tier is a permanent product, not a trial. New users complete a $0 Stripe Checkout on signup so the platform can verify the account. After that, the user gets 7 questions per day forever, with the daily counter resetting at UTC midnight.

The Free tier is enough for a candidate who:

• Is more than 6 months out from real interviews and just needs daily exposure to the question style.
• Wants to sample the platform before committing to a subscription.
• Has limited budget and prefers a slow, steady prep cadence over the recruiting cycle.

It is not enough for a candidate in the heart of recruiting, when 7 cards a day is closer to a single warm-up than a real session.

What Accelerated does not change

The content under the hood is the same on both tiers. The same 3,500+ questions, the same 39 banks, the same 68 tags, the same six-section structured answers. The same article library, the same guides, the same Excel shortcut trainer.

What changes is the daily volume cap and the filtering surface area.

Why no annual plan

Most recruiting cycles are 3–6 months of intensive prep, not 12. An annual subscription would either overcharge candidates with shorter cycles or underprice the platform's value during peak prep months. The monthly model lets candidates upgrade when they need volume and downgrade when they do not.

A candidate who runs Accelerated for the 3 months around their fall recruiting cycle pays $120 total. That is the realistic spend for serious prep.

Why no free trial

The Free tier is the trial. It is permanent, full-featured for GOBLINMODE and GOBLIN100, and gives the candidate 7 days of practice before committing, or 7 weeks, or 7 months, however long they want to take.

A standard 7-day trial of Accelerated would be worse than what already exists, because the candidate would lose access to anything they had built up if they did not convert.

How to choose

Decision rule:

• Free if you are more than 6 months from interviews, exploring the platform, or want a slow daily cadence.
• Accelerated if you have interviews on the calendar in the next 3 months, want bank- or topic-specific drilling, or expect to run more than 7 cards on most days.

Most serious candidates start on Free for the first week, then upgrade to Accelerated when they hit the daily cap on consecutive days. That upgrade happens through the in-app dialog.
